About the tests

Which test should I choose?

If you don't know what to study yet, start with the quick test (~2 min). For the most accurate result with your chances of getting in, take the full test (~5 min). If you already know where you want to go, use the chance check – it shows your chances in exactly those programs.

What if I don't know my exam results yet?

Enter your expected result – for example, based on your grade in that subject. The results will be less precise, but you can change them any time once you know the real ones.

Can I change my answers?

Yes. On the results page press “Change answers”, or start over with “Start again”.

Does it cost anything?

No, KurTālāk is completely free.

About the results

How accurate are my chances?

They're an estimate, not a guarantee. Schools don't publish the lowest admitted score, so we work it out from the number of places and applications and the CE results of all students in Latvia. Competition changes every year.

How are my points calculated?

With each program's official formula – every program has its own. The program page shows exactly how your points are counted.

What is a budget place?

On a budget place the state pays for your studies. The best applicants get them, and they're reviewed once a year – with weak grades you can lose yours.

What are priorities?

In the joint application system (latvija.gov.lv) you can list several programs in the order you want them most. You're admitted to the highest priority you have enough points for.

About data and privacy

Do you store my answers?

No. Your test answers are stored only in your browser, on your device – we can't see them. More in the privacy policy.

Where does the program data come from?

From school websites, VIAA, the joint admission system's statistics and NIID.lv. We update the data regularly.

I found a mistake or a program is missing. What do I do?

Press “Report a bug” at the bottom of the page and tell us what's wrong – we'll fix it.
